Aspermont Small Business Development Center Receives Operation Round Up Community Grant
Tuesday | June 11, 2024

South Plains Electric Cooperative is committed to the communities it serves. Operation Round Up is an innovative program in which Cooperative members help to provide funding for people and projects in our local communities.

As a Cooperative member, you can automatically round up your monthly electric bill to the nearest dollar. The extra cents collected are contributed to Operation Round Up.

In 2022, the Operation Round Up Board of Directors awarded a total of $19,500 in grants to 13 local organizations.

Aspermont Small Business Development Center received a $1,500 Operation Round Up Community Grant to aid them in their mission of enabling local senior citizens to maintain an independent living situation by providing them with prepared meals.

ASBDC was established in 1965 to wage war on poverty in Aspermont. Ever since, ASBDC has partnered with senior citizen centers to provide already prepared meals to senior citizens of the community.

With the grant, ASBDC continued providing hot prepared meals to local senior citizens in the Stonewall County Senior Citizens Center twice a week.
