South Plains Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round Up Board of Directors created a mini-grant program to help local teachers fund classroom projects or educational field trips.

A teacher mini-grant recipient was Cynthia Walden, a Pre-K teacher and PTA president at Cotton Center ISD. The grant money was used to fund an educational field trip, where all of Cotton Center’s Pre-K through second graders had the opportunity to explore and learn about everything from sea animals to a Thomas the Train exhibit.

The kids had an experience that allowed them to explore, test, learn how things work and build something they never thought they could, which made this field trip a huge success.
