The Operation Round Up Board of Directors created a mini-grant program to help teachers with classroom projects or educational field trips. Operation Round Up approved another three-year cycle of teacher mini-grants.

Nineteen teachers received grants for their reading or social studies classroom projects for the 2020-2021 school year.

Jessica Sanchez is a Resource Reading and English Special Education teacher at Roosevelt ISD and is a 2020-2021 Operation Round Up Mini-Grant recipient.

Sanchez organized a field trip to the Science Spectrum for her students.  With the mini-grant, Sanchez was able to pay the entrance fee, purchase matching “Eagle Nation” t-shirts for all students and teachers as well as a Chick-fil-A box lunch.

“Our students were completely enthralled with the exhibits and the showing of the movie, Dinosaurs in Antarctica,” Sanchez said. “Thank you so much for  this opportunity!”
