Wednesday | January 17, 2024

South Plains Electric Cooperative is committed to the communities it serves. Operation Round Up is an innovative program in which Cooperative members help to provide funding for people and projects in our local communities.

As a Cooperative member, you can automatically round up your monthly electric bill to the nearest dollar in which the extra cents collected will be contributed to Operation Round Up.

In 2022, the Operation Round Up Board of Directors awarded a total of $19,500 in grants to 13 local organizations.

SPFB also provides opportunities for community and employee engagement for people who are passionate about serving those in need and lending a helping hand to end the poverty cycle.

SPFB is a community-based organization that currently has more than 9,000 volunteers putting in over 40,000 hours a year while reaching 20 counties in West Texas.

With their Community Grant, SPFB purchased a garden planter that has tremendously increased the efficiency of planting this past year. The time saved allowed SPFB to spend extra time on their farm to accomplish other important tasks. In addition to the increased efficiency of planting, the garden planter enhanced the accuracy of planting which further increased the rate of success for all seeds planted. This also helped to cut down on unnecessary waste and time spent replanting seeds.
