To fulfill the mission of neighbors helping neighbors, South Plains Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round Up Board of Directors created a community grant program to better help local non-profit organizations.

Thanks to contributions made by Cooperative members, Operation Round Up awarded $24,000 in grants to 19 local non-profit organizations.

A recipient of an Operation Round Up Community Grant, American Agri-Women is the nation’s largest coalition of women in the farm, ranch and agribusiness sector of commodity-affiliated organizations. They are united in order to communicate with other consumers in the nation to promote agriculture.

Sigma Alpha, a part of the AAW South Plains Chapter, used their grant money to host an agricultural event at Texas Tech University. Their Tech-or-Treat booth was an opportunity to advocate for agriculture as they reached out to local companies in the industry for fun prizes to give out. Sigma Alpha would not have had this opportunity without this donation.
