To fulfill the mission of neighbors helping neighbors, South Plains Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round Up Board of Directors created a community grant program to better help local non-profit organizations.

Thanks to contributions made by cooperative members, Operation Round Up awarded $24,000 in grants to 19 local non-profit organizations.

A recipient of an Operation Round Up Community Grant, Communities in Schools of the South Plains , upholds their mission of surrounding students with a community of support, giving them the power to stay in school and ultimately achieve the most out of life.

CIS-SP assists moderate-to-low-income families by providing them with guidance, academic enrichment, basic health needs, and parental involvement.

CIS-SP used their grant money to help out several struggling families get through the harrowing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Each family desperately needed financial assistance to either pay rent, utilities, or buy basic necessities, including hygiene items, clothing and food.
