CrossView Christian Camp was awarded a $1,500 community grant from Operation Round Up. For the last 20 years, CrossView Christian Camp has fulfilled their mission to help at-risk, troubled, and traumatized children coming from low-income households in West Texas through their annual summer camp program. The program is intended to prevent and help eradicate negative behaviors resulting from harmful situations, including violence, delinquency, and drug and alcohol abuse. CrossView’s campers are typically inner-city kids who range from 2nd to 12th grades. These children generally do not thrive in traditional summer camps but are likely to succeed at CrossView Christian’s summer camp.

During their time at camp, children develop self-esteem, overcome fears, build teamwork and social skills, and participate in spiritual, emotional, and physical activities which are modeled to enable them with the capabilities to enact real and lasting change in their personal lives, community, and generations. Campers enjoy many summer activities, including swimming, ropes courses, climbing walls, arts and crafts, live music, sports, hiking, campfires and more.

CrossView Chrisitan Camp used their grant to fully cover the expenses needed to put together their 2023 summer camp. Additional funds were utilized to host a scholarship camp and equip CrossView staff and volunteers for ministry. Many underprivileged and at-risk youth in the local West Texas area were given the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus and learn valuable life skills. CrossView Christian Camp hopes to increase their budget to allow for better facilities, opportunities for additional weeks at camp, and increase collaboration with local churches and organizations to boost their camper capacity.
