Concern for Community is one of the Seven Cooperative Principles guiding South Plains Electric Cooperative. Giving back to our community gives our Cooperative the opportunity to support community efforts that enhance the quality of life for members and their families. Operation Round Up helps provide funding for community members in need.

Operation Round Up is funded by Cooperative members rounding their bill up to the nearest dollar.

Lloyd Vedder and the Lady Eagles basketball team from Roosevelt High School received an Operation Round Up Teacher Mini-Grant in 2023. With the funds, Vedder was able to provide his team with a tour of Texas Tech University and a glance at a Lady Raiders basketball practice. The students learned about the application process, how to join organizations on campus, scholarship opportunities and much more. Vedder stated this experience demonstrated that the phrase “from here anything is possible” is a true statement for his students!
