Important Notice Regarding Your Past Due Account

notice

To help our members during the COVID-19 pandemic, South Plains Electric Cooperative temporarily suspended service disconnections in March 2020 due to nonpayment of bills. During this unprecedented time, we know our members may still be facing financial challenges, and it’s time to take the next steps to help members bring their past due accounts to a current status. We've always worked with our members, and now is no different. Here is the two-step plan.

We are taking the first step by explaining the many options available to bring your account current. You must take the second step of deciding which option works best for you and contacting us with your decision, by the end of the week, to avoid disconnection.

We want to help you avoid disconnection of your electric service. One of the best options for you may be our Co-op Power Prepay program, allowing you to fill up your electric account, like filling up your gas tank. Instead of receiving a bill once a month, your usage is billed daily and deducted from the credit balance on your account. An added feature to PrePay is the debt management program. When you enroll in PrePay, your past due amount is moved to debt management. With every dollar you put on your account, 25% is applied to the debt until the balance is eliminated and the other 75% becomes a credit on the account to pay for future usage. You can learn more and sign up here.

We also offer payment arrangements, so please contact us by the end of the week to discuss options and avoid disconnection.

You can reach us at 806-775-7766 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. You can also access your account information and make payments online or on our free mobile app. Learn about all the ways to pay here.
