To better help the communities we serve and further South Plains Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round Up mission of neighbors helping neighbors, the Operation Round Up Board of Directors created a community grant program to help local non-profit organizations.

Thanks to our generous membership, Operation Round Up was able to give out $24,000 in grants to 19 local, non-profit organizations.

Lubbock Caprock AMBUCS was a 2020-2021 Operation Round Up grant recipient. Lubbock Caprock AMBUCS provides independence for individuals who are physically challenged. They provide therapeutic, hand or foot tricycles for children, veterans and adults.

"We gave away two AmTrykes with the funds provided by SPEC," Brenda Bobo said. "Caprock AMBUCS is so grateful for this funding, and thanks to SPEC for providing it. Your generosity made a big difference in these two lives!"
