Operation Round Up Community Grants
Wednesday | January 14, 2026

Concern for Community is one of the Seven Cooperative Principles guiding South Plains Electric Cooperative. Giving back to our community gives our Cooperative the opportunity to support community efforts that enhance the quality of life for members and their families. Operation Round Up helps provide funding for community members in need.

Operation Round Up is funded by Cooperative members rounding their bill up to the nearest dollar. We thank you for your generosity and for the difference you continue to make.

The Rio Blanco Heritage Foundation supported the Crosby County Pioneer Memorial Museum in effort to renovate the Native American Wing of the museum. With their community grant, they were able to restore existing cases, purchase new ones and create a research area within the museum.

The Well at Petersburg provides for rural communities around the South Plains in numerous ways. They used their grant to start a rural community food pantry, provide holiday meals for community members and donate clothing to those in need. They also built a laundry facility for students to use.

Special Olympics used their community grant to purchase a bocce ball court for use in the South Plains area. With this purchase, Special Olympics is able to offer more opportunities for athletes to remain healthy and connected to the community.

The Edge: A Company of Fine Artists used their community grant to purchase Chromebooks, digital drawing tablets, wireless microphones and speakers. All of these will be used to enhance the future of The Edge’s Acting Out Program for youth on the South Plains.
